VueScan scanning software supports foreign languages

Hamrick Software on Wednesday announced the release of VueScan 8.4.79, every update to their popular scanning software for Mac OS X, Linux and Windows. A free update toward registered users, VueScan 8.4.79 costs $39.95 or $79.95 for the Standard and Professional editions, respectively.

VueScan provides the ability to scan documents and images using a flatbed scanner, replacing the software that oftentimes comes with these devices. Hamrick Software has built a niche by developing near-universal support by reason of scanners, enabling devices to be with Mac OS X even if the software that originally came with the devices has been abandoned or orphaned. The software supports more than 750 scanners in total.

Up until after this, VueScan was only available in English. This new release now supports localized menus and dialog boxes in 24 languages.

System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.3 or later.
